Overview

A New C-Series EMC for a High-Traffic Las Vegas Corridor

NGL recently installed a brand-new outdoor electronic message center on West Sahara Avenue in Las Vegas, NV. The sign is built on our C-Series outdoor platform and uses a 7-high by 20-wide cabinet layout at a 6.3 mm pixel pitch, giving the property a sharp, full-color digital canvas that reads clearly from the street day or night.

Permitting for this sign is still being finalized — it is not yet fully permitted by NGL. If you’re considering an outdoor digital sign in the Las Vegas metro, this project still shows what an NGL C-Series build looks like in the field.

Challenges & Solutions

The Challenge: Standing Out on West Sahara Avenue

West Sahara Avenue is one of Las Vegas’s busiest east–west corridors, lined with competing commercial signage and exposed to direct desert sun for most of the day. Any static sign quickly disappears into the visual noise, and not every EMC is bright or weatherproof enough to survive a Las Vegas summer.

The Solution: 6.3 mm C-Series Outdoor EMC

We specified our C-Series outdoor cabinet at a 6.3 mm pixel pitch, which balances sharp readability with the optimal viewing distance for vehicle traffic on a wide arterial road. The 7 × 20 cabinet layout gives the customer a large active area for branding, promotions, and day-parted scheduling, while the C-Series IP-rated build handles Las Vegas heat, dust, and the occasional monsoon storm without issue.

Permitting & Installation

Status: this installation is not yet fully permitted by NGL. Final sign permits, structural review, and electrical sign-off with the local Las Vegas jurisdiction are still in progress and will be completed before the project is closed out.

Local jurisdictions in the Las Vegas valley have strict rules about EMC brightness, set-back, and dwell time, and NGL handles that paperwork as part of every project so the customer can focus on content and operations.
