📐 4. Cabinet Dimensions & Modular Geometry
Unlike traditional consumer TV panels, LED video walls are constructed modularly by snapping together standardized cabinet tiles. Individual LED cabinets cannot be cut or scaled; therefore, every video wall assembles into exact multiples of cabinet columns and rows.
Rows (Vertical Cabinets): Rows = ceil(Target_Height_mm / Cabinet_Height_mm)

Pixel Pitch (mm): The center-to-center distance between neighboring LED pixels. A smaller pitch contains more diodes per square meter, resulting in higher pixel density and sharper image rendering when viewed up close.

The calculator supports two flexible entry modes:
- Width × Height Mode: Specify your target physical boundary limits (e.g., maximum wall niche dimensions 20 ft × 10 ft). Select aspect ratio to lock proportions or leave as Free to fill custom architectural spaces.
- Diagonal + Aspect Mode: Target a standard display diagonal (e.g. 130", 163", or 220" 16:9 display) to easily replace legacy projection screens or LCD video walls.
⚡ 8. Electrical Power & Circuit Calculations
LED video walls utilize switch-mode power supplies. Power draw fluctuates dynamically based on display brightness and the percentage of white pixels on screen.
Typical / Average Power
Normal video playback draws approximately 30% to 45% of the maximum rated power. This represents continuous operating load.
Peak / Inrush Power
Peak draw occurs when the display is illuminated 100% full white at maximum nits. Dedicated branch circuits should accommodate peak startup currents.
Amperage at 110V: Amps_110V = Total_Watts / 110V
Amperage at 220V: Amps_220V = Total_Watts / 220V
NEC 80% Rule: A 20A 110V breaker allows 16A continuous load (~1,760W max per circuit).

A: To get a 16:9 ratio using square 500×500mm tiles, select a multiple of 16 columns by 9 rows (e.g., 16×9 = 8m × 4.5m / 26.2ft × 14.8ft, or 8×4.5 using 500×1000mm tiles).
A: LED walls are assembled from modular cabinet blocks (e.g. 500mm increments). The calculator snaps your dimensions to the minimum number of full cabinets required to cover your target area.
A: Lumens measure total light output from projectors. Nits (candela per square meter, cd/m²) measure surface luminance directly emitted by LED pixels. Indoor LED screens typically operate at 600–1,200 nits, while outdoor direct-sunlight displays require 4,500–7,500+ nits.
